American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider

PRICING: AHA BLS CPR for Health Care Providers = $60 and an additional $15 for the textbook

All participants are REQUIRED to have a current 2015 AHA BLS for Health Care Provider CPR textbook at the time of class.  You do not have to have the book shipped to you.  You can opt to save on shipping and be given the book at the time of the course.   

 

The American Heart Association, BLS for Healthcare Providers course is designed to provide a wide variety of certified or noncertified, licensed or non-licensed, healthcare professionals with the skills to keep people alive until they can be brought to a hospital or be treated with more advanced lifesaving measures.

The BLS course covers:

  • adult and pediatric CPR
  • two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
  • foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
  • automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update)
  • special resuscitation situations
  • other cardiopulmonary emergencies
  • stroke and cardiac arrest
 
 BLS training is intended for certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed, healthcare professionals, including:
  • physicians
  • nurses
  • paramedics
  • emergency medical technicians
  • respiratory, physical, and occupational therapists
  • physician’s assistants
  • residents or fellows
  • medical or nursing students in training
  • aides, medical or nursing assistants, and other allied health personnel
 
In addition, BLS training can be appropriate for first responders, such as police officers and firefighters, as well as for laypeople whose work brings them into contact with members of the public, such as school, fitness center, or hotel and restaurant employees.
Students must pass a written exam and skills test in order to qualify for a BLS for Healthcare Provider Course Completion Card.
Course Length
Course length is approximately four hours.
Certification Length
Certification is good for two years.

American Heart Association

Adult, Child, & Infant CPR, AED, and Online eLearning First Aid

PRICING: AHA BLS Adult, Child, & Infant CPR with Online eLearning First Aid = $110 and an additional $15 for the CPR textbook

*** This class is ideal for people looking to adopt or foster children, construction workers, coaches, teachers looking to complete their Clear Credential, or anyone looking for a general CPR and First Aid certification.  This class is not intended for daycare or childcare providers. Daycare and childcare providers need to take a specific Pediatric First Aid course.

Healthcare Providers are typically not required to take the First Aid componenet.  

All participants are REQUIRED to have a current 2015 AHA BLS for Health Care Provider CPR textbook at the time of class. You do not have to have the book shipped to you. You can opt to save on shipping and be given the book at the time of the course.

This course will certify the student in Adult, Child, & Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid. The CPR portion will be held in our classroom with the First Aid portion being completed online before the CPR class. After the online First Aid portion is completed online the student will verify First Aid skills and knowledge with the instruction directly after the CPR class is completed.

The BLS course covers:

  • adult, child, & infant CPR
  • two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
  • foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
  • automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update)
  • special resuscitation situations
  • other cardiopulmonary emergencies

The Online eLearning First Aid is a self-directed course that uses interactive lessons and videos to teach you comprehensive first aid knowledge. This program is for anyone with limited or no medical training who is in need First Aid certification and skills for employment or personal knowledge.

The Online eLearning First Aid course covers:

  • First aid basics
  • Medical emergencies
  • Injury emergencies
  • Environmental emergencies

First Aid instruction includes bandaging, bleeding, wounds, choking, shock, seizure, fainting, broken bones, sprains, burns, bites, stings, poison, and temperature-related conditions, to name a few

This combination BLS CPR and First Aid training is intended for certified or noncertified, licensed or non-licensed individuals including:

  • Health Care Providers
  • coaches
  • personnel in construction
  • emergency medical technicians
  • occupational therapists
  • physician’s assistants
  • LVN's or CNA's
  • medical or nursing students in training
  • aides, medical or nursing assistants, and other allied health personnel

In addition, BLS and First Aid training can be appropriate for first responders, such as police officers and firefighters, as well as for laypeople whose work brings them into contact with members of the public, such as school, fitness center, or hotel and restaurant employees.

Successful completion of the Online eLearning First Aid Course includes three (3) parts:                

  • Part 1, Heartsaver First Aid online course (2.5 hours)
  • Part 2, a hands-on skills practice session with an authorized AHA Heartsaver Instructor or Heartsaver Skills Evaluator™ within 60 days (10 minutes)
  • Part 3, a hands-on skills test with an authorized AHA Heartsaver Instructor or Heartsaver Skills Evaluator™ within 60 days (10 minutes)

Students must pass a written exam and skills test in order to qualify for a BLS for Healthcare Provider Course Completion Card.

Course Length

ACLS Prep Course, eLearning Online ECG Rhythm Adult

Price: $50.00

Learn: Rhythm Adult is an online, self-directed course designed to introduce healthcare providers to normal cardiac rhythms and prepare them to recognize basic cardiac arrhythmias in clinical practice. To teach these skills, this course features a combination of audio, animation, interactive activities, and self-assessment portions.

The Online ECG Adult Rhythm course is an excellent introduction to the ACLS curriculum. The ACLS course does not teach ECG rhythm recognition, students are required to know how to read and interpret ECG rhythms prior to attending the ACLS course. If you have not taken an ACLS course for several years and are out of practice or have not been a practicing medical professional for a long while, this is a perfect course to bring you back up to speed on the ECG rhythm recognition and cardiac physiology. General Overview
