American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider

PRICING: AHA BLS CPR for Health Care Providers = $60 and an additional $14 for the textbook

All participants are REQUIRED to have a current 2010 AHA BLS for Health Care Provider CPR textbook at the time of class.  You do not have to have the book shipped to you.  You can opt to save on shipping and be given the book at the time of the course.   

 

The American Heart Association, BLS for Healthcare Providers course is designed to provide a wide variety of certified or noncertified, licensed or non-licensed, healthcare professionals with the skills to keep people alive until they can be brought to a hospital or be treated with more advanced lifesaving measures.

The BLS course covers:

  • adult and pediatric CPR
  • two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
  • foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
  • automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update)
  • special resuscitation situations
  • other cardiopulmonary emergencies
  • stroke and cardiac arrest

This course will certify the student in Adult, Child, & Infant CPR and First Aid. The CPR portion will be held in our classroom with the First Aid portion being completed online before the CPR class. After the online First Aid portion is complete the student will verify First Aid skills and knowledge with the instruction directly before the CPR class begins.

The BLS course covers:

  • adult, child, & infant CPR
  • two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve mask
  • foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious)
  • automated external defibrillation (includes child AED update)
  • special resuscitation situations

The Online eLearning First Aid is a self-directed course that uses interactive lessons and videos to teach you comprehensive first aid knowledge. This program is for anyone with limited or no medical training who is in need First Aid certification and skills for employment or personel knowledge.

The Online eLearning First Aid course covers:

  • First aid basics
  • Medical emergencies
  • Injury emergencies
  • Environmental emergencies

First Aid instruction includes bandaging, bleeding, wounds, choking, shock, seizure, fainting, broken bones, sprains, burns, bites, stings, poison, and temperature-related conditions, to name a few

This combination BLS CPR and First Aid training is intended for certified or noncertified, licensed or non-licensed individuals including:

  • Health Care Providers
  • coaches
  • personnel in construction
  • emergency medical technicians
  • occupational therapists
  • physician’s assistants
  • LVN's or CNA's
  • medical or nursing students in training

Successful completion of the Online eLearning First Aid Course includes three (3) parts:

ECG & Phamacology

American Heart Association, ECG and Pharmacology Course

Course Description:

The ECG and Pharmacology course is designed to refine ECG recognition for basic and advanced arrhythmias. The program allows Healthcare Providers to become proficient in basic ACLS drug usage and routes of administration during cardiovascular emergencies. This course uses the “building-block” method of learning starting with basic rhythm recognition skills and moves into more advanced concepts. Perfect for credentialed healthcare providers who either must or wish to supplement their training. It is an ideal solution for students who are preparing to take ACLS or PALS, but can also be used by anyone needing to learn ECG recognition skills and or pharmacology, including pre-hospital and hospital personnel.

This comprehensive course presents information on basic electrophysiology, normal ECG measurements, basic arrhythmias, basic ACLS drugs, usage and routes of administration during cardiovascular emergencies, and how to integrate basic drug pharmacology into ACLS algorithms.

All ACLS students must purchase a currnt AHA ACLS book prior to the course.  The American Heart Associaton requires all ACLS students to complete a Pre-Course exam and print out a certification of completion prior to the course. 

 

The ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. This advanced course highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. ACLS also covers airway management and related pharmacology.

Skills are taught in large-group sessions and small-group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.

  • ACLS algorithms

Students must pass a written exam and skills test in order to qualify for an ACLS Course Completion Card. This Course combines the AHA ACLS Initial Certification along with the eLearning Online BLS for Health Care Provider Course (BLS for HCP).  You will complete the AHA eLearning BLS for HCP course online prior to the class.   A BLS for HCP Course Completion Certificate must be presented at the course to obtain certification.

Learn: Rhythm Adult is an online, self-directed course designed to introduce healthcare providers to normal cardiac rhythms and prepare them to recognize basic cardiac arrhythmias in clinical practice. The Online ECG Adult Rhythm course is an excellent introduction to the ACLS curriculum. General Overview

The Heartsaver ® First Aid course provides first responders with training in basic first-aid procedures -- including the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA -- in a format that can be delivered in a single day. The course covers:

The Heartsaver ® First Aid course is intended for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, including:
